Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical
University (ATU) is a public university affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of
Higher Education and Scientific Research. Its main campus is in Kufa City, one
of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat provinces of the Republic of Iraq. The University was
established in 2014 after it emerged from the Technical Education Authority,
founded in 1969. It consists
of four technical colleges and eight
technical institutes (health & medicine, engineering, administration &
accounting, agriculture , and applied
arts). Colleges and institutes are separated over eight different campuses within
Iraq's Al Furat Al-Awsat province, i.e., Kufa
- Najaf - Babylon - Karbala
– Mussiab – Diwaniya – Semawa - Al-Rumatha.
The University offers the Technical Diploma, Technical Bachelor,
Master and Ph.D. degrees in various disciplines. The University has 1273 academic staff members with master's and doctorate qualifications and 3635employees with bachelor's degrees and technical diplomas. They, as mentioned earlier, are divided into Colleges
