KNB Scholarship (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) is a fully funded scholarship program offered by the Government of Indonesia for students from developing countries to pursue higher education at selected Indonesian universities. The program supports undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in a wide range of disciplines. It aims to strengthen educational cooperation, build international networks, and develop future leaders who can contribute to the sustainable development of their home countries.
The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, including full tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, health insurance, a settlement allowance upon arrival, and a round-trip international airfare. For graduate students, the program also includes research and thesis support. In addition, recipients usually attend a preparatory Indonesian language program before starting their degree, helping them adapt to academic and daily life in Indonesia.
At Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA), KNB recipients can choose from 11 undergraduate programs and 2 master’s programs across several faculties, including the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Administrative Science. These programs are designed to provide strong academic foundations, practical skills, and global perspectives aligned with current industry and research needs.
To be eligible, applicants must be citizens of developing countries, meet the academic requirements of the chosen program, and demonstrate good health and English proficiency. Typical age limits are 21 years for bachelor’s applicants, 35 years for master’s applicants, and 40 years for doctoral applicants, although specific criteria may vary each year.
Through the KNB Scholarship, Indonesia promotes cultural exchange, academic collaboration, and the development of a global alumni network committed to social, economic, and technological progress.
We’re delighted to announce that Valery Salas has won this year’s QS ImpACT Women’s Scholarship and has commenced an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment degree at The University of Oxford, UK.
We catch up with a previous winner of a QS ImpACT scholarship from 2022, Shaan Kumar, to learn about how the scholarship made their study abroad dreams possible.
In a landmark partnership, the QS Scholarships platform merged with ImpACT charity organization in 2020, culminating in a synergy of resources that now manifests as QS ImpACT Scholarships.
What is the difference between institution-funded and QS ImpACT scholarships?
Institution-funded scholarships are exclusively backed by the institution itself. This implies that scholarship recipients need to secure acceptance for their studies at the said institution in order to qualify. It's essential to note that each scholarship comes with its own set of eligibility criteria and prerequisites. On the other hand, QS ImpACT Scholarships mark a collaborative effort between the ImpACT charity organization and QS. These scholarships present a unique advantage – they allow candidates to be considered regardless of the institution they choose for their studies, as long as they meet the appropriate study-level requirements. To delve deeper into the eligibility criteria associated with these scholarships, we invite you to explore the relevant scholarship details.
What if a scholarship is not exclusive?
It means that the scholarship is advertised on other platforms and websites as well, and so are available to a wider audience. You don’t need to attend one of our events (Discover Master's, Discover MBA, Connect Masters, Connect MBA, STEM, etc.) to apply (but we’d love to see you anyway).
Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
Yes, you can apply for as many scholarships as you wish. Just make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria and follow the application process for each.
Who evaluates my application and who will announce the winner?
Scholarships by institutions are managed by the school, university or collage offering the scholarship and the winner will also be announced by them. QS ImpACT Scholarships are managed by us here at QS and we’ll announce the winner.
