Traditionally, Haute Couture represents the highest expression of sartorial excellence: unique, made-to-measure garments, predominantly handcrafted using high-quality fabrics, decorations, applications, and embroidery, with an exceptional focus on detail and craftsmanship. The Master’s programme is rooted in these values, reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens.
The course is held in Rome, a symbolic city where Italian Haute Couture originated and an extraordinary setting shaped by the interplay of outstanding craftsmanship, historic architecture, and both ancient and contemporary art. This unique environment becomes a constant source of inspiration, nurturing the students’ cultural and creative development.
The programme offers an intensive theoretical and practical pathway, structured as an operational laboratory of research and design. From the initial phases of research and experimentation through to garment creation, students acquire the conceptual frameworks and essential tools needed to understand and interpret new Haute Couture languages, emerging technologies, and evolving market sectors, with particular attention to innovation and sustainability within the creative process.
The Master’s programme also provides the opportunity to gain hands-on professional experience through the development of Industry Projects in collaboration with high-profile professionals and prestigious fashion houses, and includes a curricular internship. Meetings with representatives from leading companies across the fashion supply chain, as well as visits to centres of production excellence, are key components of the educational experience, fostering direct engagement with the professional world.
Upon completion of the First-Level Master’s Programme in Haute Couture and Fashion Design, graduates can pursue careers as Fashion Designers within haute couture ateliers and leading ready-to-wear companies, take on the role of Product Development Manager, or work across a wide range of professional areas within the fashion system — from collection, print, and embellishment design to the development of an independent entrepreneurial venture.
