The MSEPE is a two-year program which is designed to provide a broad and in-depth knowledge and skills to students on modern electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power and energy. It is suitable for recent engineering graduates and professionals who wish to improve their knowledge and skills relevant to the power industry.

Throughout the program, the students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the full supply chain of electric power, from generation to the energy market. This provides a solid foundation to enter a professional role in industry or academia.

The program is taught over five semesters. The first two semesters [Spring and Fall] take place in Baku with online classes taught by GW faculty. The next two semesters [Spring and Summer] take place in Washington DC in person. In the last semester [Fall], the students are required to take courses taught by ADA faculty and work on their individual master's thesis devoted to one of the trending research topics in electrical and power engineering.

The program is funded within the framework of the “State Program on improving the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023 and support of “Azerenerji” OSC. All participants in this program receive full funding from the State Program and “Azerenerji” OSC to cover their tuition fees, travel costs and living expenses in Washington DC.
