Student life

At Antonine University (UA), our students are our top priority. In alignment with our mission to “enhance the sustainable well-being of our local and global community”, the Vice Rectorate for Integral Human Development brings together several student services dedicated to fostering the holistic development of our students, based on the UA Wellness Wheel.

These offices – the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of Social Affairs, the Office of Athletics, the Counseling Service, the Center for Career Development, the Office of Alumni Relations, and the Pastoral Care – work collaboratively to support the personal and academic growth of students by providing a wide range of opportunities. Together, they accompany students throughout their academic journey and are committed to creating a welcoming, vibrant, and supportive environment, ensuring that the university experience is truly transformative. 

To achieve these goals and to promote holistic development, numerous activities and initiatives are implemented, including:

-           Academic and personal development (awareness sessions, soft skills workshops, leadership opportunities, etc.)

-           Arts, Culture, and Expression (UA Talent, art workshops, cultural discovery activities, etc.)

-           Spiritual activities (interfaith initiatives, diversity and inclusion activities, spiritual retreats, etc.)

-           Social and Humanitarian engagement (blood drives, community service projects, partnerships with NGOs, etc.)

-           Physical and outdoor activities (hiking, tree planting, sports tournaments, etc.)

-           Community building and celebrations (alumni engagement, recognition, and achievement ceremonies, etc.)

In addition, more than ten student clubs are available, allowing our students to express their interests, develop their skills, and build meaningful connections with their peers.

Students are also offered numerous volunteering opportunities, on campus and in the society, through which they develop competencies related to teamwork, communication, leadership, and personal development, while enhancing their curriculum vitae.

It is important to highlight that all these services are complementary and work in synergy.

Furthermore, the counseling Service provides students with free, one-to-one counseling sessions to support them in understanding and overcoming personal and academic challenges.

Through these structures and meaningful activities, initiatives, listening spaces, agreements, opportunities, and awareness sessions, students grow and develop holistically.

UA has also introduced the UA+ Program, which offers sessions throughout the academic year on various topics aimed at enhancing student’s soft skills while maintaining their well-being. This program encourages students to grow beyond the classroom and continuously strive for personal and professional development. Participation in the UA+ is recognized on students’ transcripts upon graduation, giving them a valuable “plus” in the job market.

Another key initiative is the Wellness and Mental Health Week, held annually to promote a holistic approach to a healthy university environment. This week-long event, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Public Health, brings together more than 25 national and international experts from Canada, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and China, who deliver sessions to both the UA and external communities, addressing the eight dimensions of wellness (physical, academic, emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, occupational, and social).

Furthermore, UA is firmly committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Believing in the interconnectedness of social, economic, and environmental issues, UA strives to build an inclusive, equitable, and environmentally responsible society by actively integrating the SDGs into its activities and initiatives.

Our campus life is also enriched by our mascot “ Sunbula ”, inspired by UA’s Patron Saint, Our Lady of the Seeds. In the iconography associated with the feast of Our Lady of the Harvest, Mary is often depicted standing over a wheat field, symbolically protecting the crop she once nurtured her own son with. Wheat bends easily with the wind, reminding us that strength can come from flexibility. Like this resilient crop, our students face challenges with perseverance and adaptability.

UA also promotes student-led communication initiatives to encourage creativity and engagement. The Student Representative Committee, composed of representatives from each faculty and academic department, serves as a vital link between students and the administration. Through monthly meetings with the Office of Student Affairs, students’ concerns, ideas, and challenges are voiced, addressed, and acted upon.

At UA, our approach is centered on supporting students, providing meaningful opportunities, and emphasizing integral human development, while remaining rooted in strong academic values. We balance innovation, information, and formation, enabling our students to grow intellectually, socially, and personally through active engagement.

In conclusion, UA’s student services serve as a bridge between academic life, personal development, and community engagement. We shape well-rounded Antonine University graduates. We engage fully, and we are honored to walk this journey with our students.
