bbw University of Applied Sciences commenced operations in 2007 with a focus on being a strong academic partner for the Berlin and Brandenburg economy. By ensuring each course was carefully designed to meet the demands of local businesses, bbw grew quickly. Following that principle, it grew to become the largest private university in the region within 10 years. That growth has been fueled by an unwavering commitment to each of our student's academic development.

bbw's structured blend of practical and theoretical training has seen over 10,000 students entering employment with a skillset that allows then to immediately commence work as academically trained specialists and managerial staff. We are proud of each and every graduate, and continually strive to educate in ways that prepare new graduates for the issues and challenges awaiting them in an increasingly internationalised labour market.

One key way bbw does this is to work closely with German com¬panies operating at an international level. Our carefully nurtured ties with commerce and industry allow us present students with excellent internship and employment opportunities as part of their degree. By drawing on these strategic partnerships, both from the realm of academic and industry, we are able to prepare students for multicultural working environments upon graduation.
 
Our International Courses

Our English-language Bachelor courses are focused on the Engineering Sciences. Upon graduation, students have the option of specialising their studies as part a two-year Master’s programme. Here bbw focusses on developing managerial skills to ensure graduates begin their careers with both the scientific fundamentals and executive abilities they will need to succeed in the international labour market. Currently, five programmes are offered in English.

University Partnerships

bbw collaborates on research and academic exchange projects with leading universities around the world. This focus has seen bbw expand its presence beyond the Berlin and Brandenburg region through strategic international partnerships and alliances with intuitions in Asia, Africa and Russia - all the while developing closer relationships with partners located within the European Union.
