At SHMS, hospitality is not only something you study in a classroom. You will live and learn in former Swiss palace hotels where your surroundings become part of your education.
The Caux campus occupies the historic Caux Palace, overlooking Montreux and Lake Geneva. Its facilities include professional kitchens, a demonstration kitchen, a fine-dining restaurant, classrooms and a theatre.
The Leysin campus occupies two former Belle Époque palace hotels connected by a private Skytrain. Its facilities include restaurants, a professional spa, a Concept Lab, a Design Lab and modern learning and recreational spaces.
Depending on your programme, you may help operate restaurants and hospitality facilities, develop events and guest experiences, or work on hotel, design, spa and luxury concepts. Practical classes and projects based on real business challenges allow you to apply your knowledge in realistic environments.

Internships allow you to apply your knowledge in a professional environment, explore different career paths and start building an international network.
Depending on your programme, you may complete placements in Switzerland or internationally in hospitality, luxury, events or another service-focused industry.

Students pursue a specialization in Hotel Management or Events Management and complete two internships representing one year of professional experience. The final programme title and recognition status remain subject to the applicable approval process.
- Bachelor of Arts in International Hospitality Management: Combine practical hospitality education with business, leadership and digital capabilities. Choose a specialization in Hotel Management, Events Management or Design Management.

Caux
The Caux campus has been home to Swiss Hotel Management School since 1994. Students have access state-of-the-art facilities and leisure centers all within a 10 minute walk. The campus and its facilities are housed in the flagship Caux Palace as well as the Buffet de la Gare next to the train station, the Baumann Building, and residential buildings including Chalet de Caux, Alpina Apartments, and A Cappel'Art.
Towering over Montreux and built in 1902, Caux Palace was one of the largest, most advanced, and luxurious hotels ever designed. Notables such as the then-future king of Saudi Arabia, Prince Ibn Saud, English author Rudyard Kipling, American business magnate John D. Rockefeller, and the Kellogg and Gillette families.
While the history and exterior of the building is protected, much of the interior is renovated with state-of-the-art classrooms, kitchens, and even a theater. Take our virtual 3D tour to see the inside of the historic Caux Palace.
Leysin
Nestled high in the Swiss Alps, the Leysin campus is housed in two former Belle-epoque hotels: Mont-Blanc Palace and the Belvédere, linked by a private Skytrain. Historically, Mont-Blanc Palace was the first winter Club Med in the world. The Leysin campus of Swiss Hotel Management School was established in 2004, offering an unforgettable student life experience among luxurious Swiss mountain resorts.
Leysin’s facilities are optimized to create the perfect balance between study and leisure. We use our Apple Distinguished School certificate as a foundation for what we have to offer, guaranteeing a state-of-the-art experience both inside and outside the classroom. Tuition fees
Merit-based scholarships, partner scholarships, and dedicated awards for Swiss citizens and Swiss permit holders are available, subject to eligibility criteria.
Scholarships are applied to tuition fees and are awarded on a case-by-case basis, with limited availability each year.
SHMS also provides flexible payment plans to help students manage educational expenses and facilitates access to loan options for eligible EU students.
