Located in the state-of-the-art Integrated Science Building at 245 Beacon Street, we offer academic programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, as well as a minor in Computer Science, and an assortment of introductory-level and Core courses for non-specialists. Our advanced students have the opportunity to carry out independent study and to collaborate with faculty on research projects. Our faculty members maintain active programs of research and publication in distributed algorithms and systems, natural language processing, data mining, and the theory of computation, with additional faculty expertise in programming languages, computer engineering, and social and ethical issues in computing. The Computer Science Department offers an undergraduate major leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, and two minors. In addition, the Computer Science, Biology, and Mathematics departments jointly offer an interdisciplinary concentration in Bioinformatics. Read less
