The MA International Journalism is a professional master’s which includes practical and academic components, such as fieldwork, workshops, studio work and an option to complete a final practical project or a dissertation. The programme study-based components reflect the level of award.

You will develop skills in text, broadcast and online journalism and learn how they function in a global context.

Our programme enables you to study news in all its forms and grow your understanding of international journalism from a UK perspective.

While you will practise in different media of journalism (text, broadcast and online), you will additionally explore journalism theories and concepts and reflect on your work. You also explore the contemporary global domain of journalism.

You will learn from working with people from the UK, Europe and beyond and benefit from our location in London, a global media city.

The course enables you either to start a career in journalism, or to undertake continuing professional development.

It is suitable, therefore, for those with the required academic qualifications but without any prior experience in journalism, and, more exceptionally, for those with appropriate experience in journalism but who do not hold the required academic qualifications.

Graduates from the course overwhelmingly enter the workplace although some go on to further study.
