The Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU) Pune, sponsored by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Society, Pune, was declared as “Deemed-to-be-University” under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 in 2003. Under National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022, conducted by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi, the University has achieved rank 3rd in Dental Category, 17th in Medical Category, 41st in University Category. 

The University offers nine UG programs under Medical, Dental, Biotechnology, Management, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Optometry disciplines. 

The Medical College and Hospital is NABH accredited and has pivotal infrastructure that supports MBBS teaching programs. The program is approved by the National Medical Commission, Government of India. The intake capacity of students for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program is 250.  The duration of program is 4 ½ years and one year Internship with CBSC pattern.

The Dental College & Hospital offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program that imparts high level skills training on various disciplines of dentistry, making it one-of-its-kind institute, with widest range of choices. The intake capacity of BDS is 100 students per year and is recognized by the Dental Council of India, the College is known for the best equipped and comprehensive academics set up in dentistry in the country. BDS program duration is four years and one year Internship with annual pattern for first, second and third year and semester for fourth year.

Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute offers various degree programs in Biotechnology- namely B. Tech. (General), B. Tech. (Medical Biotechnology) with 60 intakes. Duration of B.Tech. is four years including internship and has CBSC pattern. The programs are duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The academic and research collaborations are with University of Skövde, Sweden, Örebro University, Sweden and National School of Engineers, Sfax, Tunisia. The Linnaeus-Palme exchange program is supported by ‘The Council of Higher Education in Sweden’, faculty and students from these institutions visit on regular basis. The students of both UG program undergo semester abroad to pursue their research project/ dissertation.

The Global Business School & Research Centre offers three-year full-time Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program with 60 intake. 

The Nursing College was started with the objective of imparting high-quality education to students, along with in-depth practical knowledge and skills. The Programs like Basic B.Sc. with 100 intakes, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with 30 intakes. Basic B.Sc. in Nursing is of four years duration including internship with CBSC pattern and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is of two years duration with semester pattern. The UG program is approved by Indian Nursing Council and Maharashtra Nursing Council.

The College of Physiotherapy recognized by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) and the Maharashtra State Council of Occupational therapy and Physiotherapy (MSCOTPT). The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Program with 100 intake is offered that of 4.5 years including internship with CBSC pattern. 

Institute of Optometry and Visual Sciences offers UG program with 50 intake and covers general eye and vision care and Optometric specialties. Students gain experience in all aspects of Optometric practice and industry by working and learning in these clinics. Bachelor of Optometry (B. Optom.) is three years and one year Internship with CBSC pattern.

Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune (Deemed to be University) accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with CGPA of 3.64 on four point scale at ‘A++’ Grade. In National Institutional Ranking Framework(NIRF) the institution is 41st in the university category,3rd in dental category and 17th in medical category. It is category I university having 7 constituent units conducting masters’ program (Medical, Dental, Biotechnology, Management, Physiotherapy, Optometry and Nursing). In all 56 Masters programmes (including Super-specialty and PhD) are offered with 100% clinical competencies and employability.

The Medical College offers Postgraduate and Super-specialty programmes of three years duration (MD, MS, DM and M.Ch ) in 24 different subjects like, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT General Medicine, Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis, Respiratory Medicine, Dermatology, Pathology, Community Medicine, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Emergency Medicine. The annual intake of these courses is 250. These programmes are recognized by National Medical Commission of India. All the programmes are supported by State of the Art Infrastructure including 2011 bedded well-equipped hospital (NABH Accredited), 175 Intensive Care beds, 26 futuristic Operating Theatres with advanced technology and 4th generation Da Vinci xi Robot. 

Since its inception in 2000, Dental College, offers MDS programs (three year duration) in 9 specialties with a total intake 49. The specialties offered are Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Periodontology, Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Oral Pathology & Microbiology and Public Health Dentistry. These programmes are approved by Dental Council of India. The college has NABH accredited hospital with well-equipped laboratories (NABL accredited) and modern infrastructural facilities like Dental Implant Centre and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory (GMP certified). This institute offers a Ph.D. program in Dentistry.

The Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute offers Masters programmes in M. Tech. (Integrated), M. Sc. and Ph. D. in both Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. These Master programmes with total intake 75 are approved by AICTE and UGC, Government of India. These programmes are research and industry focused with more than  50% practical component and one Year Research project/dissertation. This Institute has well-equipped research laboratories with modern instruments, established research centers /facilities including Microbial Diversity Research Centre, Cancer research, Bioinformatics Research Laboratory with Optimized Supercomputer and DST-FIST, Government of India sponsored facilities augment the teaching-learning and research prospects of these students. This program has  academic and research collaborations with University of Skövde, Örebro University, Sweden and National School of Engineers, Sfax, Tunisia. Global Business School & Research Centre offers a 2 years full time MBA program with a total intake 240 which is approved by AICTE, Government of India. This program is Semester pattern with Credit systems and more than 50% competencies/employability/Industry oriented courses. It also offers PhD programmes in various specializations of management.

Physiotherapy college is recognized by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists and the Maharashtra State Council of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. The College offers post graduate degree in Pediatrics, Musculoskeletal Science and Hand Conditions, Manual therapy, Sports, Community Based Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Neurosciences and Cardio-Respiratory Sciences with two Year Programmes with total intake 36 and also PhD programs in allied health sciences. 

The Institute of Optometry and Visual Sciences offers two Year master programmes in general eye and vision care with a total intake of 10. 

The College of Nursing is approved by Maharashtra Nursing Council, Mumbai & Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. This Institute offers Masters program MSc in Nursing (Total intake 20) and Ph.D. in Nursing.
