Course topics may also include: cancer therapy, cardiac electrophysiology, biosensors, microfluidics, medical imaging and image analysis, optogenetics, robotics and ultrasound applications in medicine.

The following requirements must be fulfilled:
- Non-thesis option: 30 credits, including 15 credits in required courses and 15 credits in elective courses
- Thesis option: 30 credits, including 15 credits in required courses, 9 credits in elective courses, and 6 credits of thesis research courses

Admissions Requirements
- Preferred bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering. A bachelor's degree in another field may be considered if a minimum of two college-level physics and two college-level mathematics courses have been completed.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) achieved at the time of bachelor's degree conferral.
