The 6-year degree course in Medicine and Surgery is entirely taught in English.
From the first year, theoretical interdisciplinary modules are integrated with hands-on experience and simulation activities, with clerkships commencing in the 3rd year.

The single-cycle Master’s Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery at Humanitas University lasts six years and is taught entirely in English. From the first year, interdisciplinary theoretical modules are integrated with practical exercises and simulation activities.

Clinical training begins in the third year at various Humanitas hospitals, under the supervision of specialized tutors who guide students throughout their clinical practice.

Students may also apply to join the Virgilio Program, an additional track focused on biomedical research. This program allows them to enrich their curriculum through interdisciplinary seminars, interactive learning activities, and hands-on laboratory experience – one month per year – fostering active participation in scientific research.

Future doctors will also have the opportunity to spend a period abroad, thanks to scholarships, travel grants, and the Erasmus Program. Conferences and seminars with renowned Italian and international doctors and researchers are organised to promote cultural awareness and support professional academic growth.

The course is characterised by a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to teaching, with a total of 360 credits and 29 exams, distributed into 12 semesters.

Among the teaching methods, particular relevance is given to interactive teaching, which mostly consists of group activities coordinated by a tutor. Examples of such methods are Problem Based Learning, Case Method, Concept Maps and Portfolios.

Particular attention is also paid to vocational training in order to promote the acquisition of specific vocational skills. This approach allows students to fully integrate theory and practice, developing a critical and autonomous reasoning.

You are classified as  either EU or non-EU  student for the purpose of assessing your  tuition fees.

For EU students, the tuition fees are calculated according to the economic situation of the family of the student, on the basis of the ISEP Index.

In order to attract the most talented and motivated candidates, Humanitas University has established a scholarship programme for EU and Non-EU students, with scholarships worth between €5.000 and €23.000 per academic year.
