We are the first Petroleum Engineering Department in Kurdistan and the second in Iraq. Every year more students come to this department from inside Kurdistan Region, Iraq, Syria and Iran. Because of our reputation for high quality teaching and the success of our graduates, students from other universities of Kurdistan and Iraq apply to join our department. The excellent teaching facilities and strong collaboration with oil industries consistently enable us to produce the types of graduates that industry needs. We have a vibrant and rapidly growing teaching community with expertise in such diverse areas as Drilling Engineering, Reservoir Engineering and Simulation, Engineering Production, and expertise in other engineering fields such as Materials Engineering, Fluid Flow and Engineering Design. The Faculty of Engineering and particularly the Petroleum Department have a great reputation for collaborating with leading employers to provide the students with the experience needed in today's business environment. Our success is proven by our excellent graduate employability record and the relation of the Petroleum Department with the local and international oil industries provides an excellent bridge into highly skilled work.
