The Bachelor of Fine Arts is a three-year full-time study programme that aims to educate artists with high artistic and professional ability. The programme has a distinct international profile and prepares students for an international career. The programme’s internationally active professors work in a range of different artistic fields.  Not only does this lead to important interaction at Malmö Art Academy but it also provides students with the opportunity to choose courses that reflect their own artistic intentions.

The programme is characterised by freedom of choice and independent study, consisting of individual studio work, individual supervision from internationally active professors and other teaching staff as well as elective courses in the major fields of technique, creation and theory. The degree project consists of an artistic project presented in a group exhibition and a short written assignment. The main language of instruction and supervision is English.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts programme prepares the students to independently create and operate in different professional capacities, as well as working in a constantly changing cultural scene. The programme is also a foundation for further studies in a Master’s programme in Fine Arts.
