Interior Design creates comfortable and inspiring spatial environment. It develops the sense of association between the user and the space that redefines the satisfaction of the end user. Manipal University, Jaipur has adopted the Choice based credit system which allows the flexibility in education system, so that students depending upon their interests and aims can choose interdisciplinary, intra-disciplinary and skill-based courses.
B.Des. in Interior Design is a 4-year course that is designed to teach students the concepts that go into planning, designing, organizing, and managing spaces, based on their function. Interior design programs take students through a detailed study about the various principles and elements of design, of which, training in 2D and 3D design software is an integral part.
Also, students have an option to exit the program in 3 years with B.A in Interior Design. The program intends to take the students through an array of structural requirements, mechanical and electrical services, health and safety issues, and building codes as well.
The program aims to prepare professionals to work as Interior Designers, Graphic Designers, Space Consultants for Exhibitions, Theatres and Museums, Specialist for Visual Merchandising, Freelance Designer, Furniture Designer, Lighting Designer to name a few. Interior Designers may also be employed by architects, builders, private consultancies & various MNCs etc.
