The OHIO online Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program prepares nurses to provide advanced practice care in primary care settings. FNPs have the ability to manage care of patients across the lifespan by utilizing advanced assessment and diagnostic skills to develop treatment plans. Graduates may sit for the AANP or ANCC certification exam upon graduation to become certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. The OHIO online FNP program consists of both didactic and clinical performance courses. The didactic courses present the nursing knowledge, theoretical concepts, models, and research that inform patient care and evidence-based practice. The clinical/practice-based courses provide opportunities for students to apply knowledge, practice skills, plan and implement interventions, and learn the full scope of the role for which they are preparing.
