Admission Requirements

Entrance to the RNCM BA (Hons) programme is dependent on the following:
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age on 31 December in the year of entry.
  • All applicants must achieve ABB-BCC at GCE A level (A2), including Music or Music Technology and a humanities subject or English Language. BTECs and international equivalents will be assessed on an individual basis – please contact [email protected] for more information.
  • All applicants must have achieved a pass or higher in Grade 8 practical or performance, or equivalent on any instrument.
  • All applicants must have achieved a pass or higher in Grade 5 Music Theory.
  • All applicants must pass an RNCM interview prior to entry, demonstrating academic suitability to the course.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must obtain an overall IELTS score of 5.5, with a minimum score of 5.5 in every component.
