Named after a 15th-century Franciscan friar and preacher, Siena College offers undergraduate degrees in three main subject areas: business, liberal arts and the sciences. Subjects covered within these two areas include: economics; English; history; modern languages and classics; philosophy; computer science; mathematics; and nursing.
Siena College’s suburban campus takes up 174 acres on the edge of Loudonville, a hamlet in the US state of New York. The college library has space for 400,000 volumes and provides 100 computer workstations for students to use. There are also 11 group study rooms and training laboratories.
There are eight residential areas, mostly concentrated in the center of the campus. However, there are also some student townhouses to the north of the campus. A Friary also provides accommodation for the Franciscan friars who continue to be involved in the running of the college.
In athletics, the college’s male basketball, baseball and lacrosse teams have all performed notably in recent years.
