Linguistics involves investigating language systematically, exploring how it is used in day to day life, and discovering how it is realized in the human mind. You will learn how to construct logical arguments through analytical reasoning, probe language behaviour with experiments, and apply linguistic insights in human health, language technology, and language teaching. After a student has completed 60 units, a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of not less than 2.40 is required for continuance in the major program. Students whose CGPA falls below 2.40 cannot enroll in any upper division LING courses. After their CGPA is restored to 2.40, students must meet with the departmental advisor to redeclare into the program.
