In January 2024, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru achieved the prestigious status of "Deemed to be University," marking a significant milestone in its continuous commitment to providing exceptional education. The University has a student body of over 8500 and offers 109 programmes across Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. levels. The academic framework is organized into 11 Schools comprising 44 specialized Departments, covering various fields such as Humanities, Physical and Biological Sciences, Commerce and Management, Computer Science, Animation, Teacher Education Vocational Degree Programs, Engineering and Law. St Aloysius has an impressive heritage spanning 146 years. The institution attained Autonomous Status in 2007 and was subsequently recognized as an "Institution with Potential for Excellence" by the UGC in 2009.
