The aim of the study programme, which is not strictly defined as "design" or "technology", is to prepare graduates for professional activities carried out within the entire innovation or life cycle (not only engineering) of a product, i.e. in the management of the innovation process, in the creation of an innovation plan, in the systematic and creative generation of the concept of an innovative product, in the development, construction, testing and improvement of products and subsequent design, innovation or optimization of the production process (workplace, cell, line, layout). The student will also gain knowledge of the principles of design and construction of components and assemblies, gain skills in advanced methods of innovative creativity, gain knowledge of product building, knowledge of project planning and management methodologies, use of construction materials, advanced modeling methods and prototyping. Students will gain knowledge of the design, innovation and optimization of the manufacturing process of an innovative product and skills that are in line with trends in technical innovation and industrial engineering. Graduation from the study programme will enable students to easily find employment in various industries in the Czech and EU labour market. The aim of the study programme is also to prepare graduates for study in follow-up doctoral study programmes. The implementation of the study programme will thus contribute to eliminating the deficits that the Czech Republic has in comparison with the most developed industrial countries in terms of the quantity and quality of technical innovations and the level of production efficiency.
