Undergraduate Overview













UCW offers four undergraduate programs and a summary of each is provided below along with their courses.

Bachelor of Commerce

This is a four-year program with 120 credits and is recognized by the ACBSP. Students of this course can expect a combination of practical work and theoretical knowledge that will ready you for a successful career within modern business. Other valuable skills students will gain include critical thinking abilities, teamwork and communication and operational skills to ensure you excel in a global business setting where you’ll be able to provide solutions to corporate challenges and create new opportunities.

The program is delivered via four tiers to help you progress at each level to prepare you for the Capstone courses that bring together all your knowledge so you can put your skills to practice in real-world projects to launch your career.

        • Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication

          This four-year, 120-credit program helps learners develop their writing and research skills to provide you a solid understanding of media and communications and their importance in the contemporary business world as well how they can be used to solve corporate challenges.

           This program is taught via four tiers to build your knowledge, critical thinking and operational skills. Finally, you will put your newly-found expertise to the test via a series of practical tasks that will launch your career. This is the perfect program if you wish to enter the fields of public relations, journalism, communications and advertising.

          You will learn to evaluate and understand the use of different forms of media and communications and consider the theoretical knowledge behind this. You will also learn the importance of creating ethical and legally compliant content for a variety of mediums and markets.

                • Associate of Arts Degree


                  This is a two-year, 60-credit program made up of courses that provide in-demand skills within content, communications, research and team performance. This is the perfect program if you plan to use it as a stepping stone for another qualification or to get your first job. 

                  The AA degree can be a gateway to move onto a bachelor’s program at UCW or any other British Columbia degree-providing institution. This program can be tailored to offer the courses that suit your future goals and UCW’s academic advisors will be on-hand to ensure you make the right selection.

                  You’ll gain a variety of essential skills on this program such as the ability to think critically, improve your oral skills, research skills and apply your theoretical knowledge to practical tasks. Students will learn via lectures and class discussions, written assessments, presentations and team projects.

                    • University Access Program (UAP)

                      The UAP is a series of English preparation courses to help you enter an English-speaking university. The UAP targets academic skills such as essay writing, researching, note taking and critical thinking. 

                      You can take the UAP to join UCW’s degree programs and it can be taken over periods of three, six and nine months.
