Archaeology is the study of the human past, from the hunter-gatherers of Ice Age Europe to the inhabitants of modern cities. Our course provides an understanding of these past societies and aims to provide you with a range specific and transferrable skills, including field survey and excavation, critical thinking, scientific and data analysis and interpretation, organisation and presentation, problem solving, as well as teamworking. At Chester you will be part of a friendly and vibrant academic department. You will be taught in small groups by academic staff with expertise in a range of periods and specialisms, and will have access to modern research facilities.

Please note that we accept a maximum of 8 UCAS points from GCE AS Levels and that the Welsh Baccalaureate (core) and A Level General Studies will be recognised in our offer. We will also consider a combination of A Levels and BTECs/OCRs.
