Master of Actuarial Studies is a specialist degree designed for those wanting to enter the financial services, insurance or superannuation industry in a quantitative role. This degree provides technical expertise needed to pursue the role of an actuarial analyst. It has also been professionally recognised by Foundation and some Associate Programs of the Australian Actuaries Institute; and recognised for exemptions for Foundation subjects of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), and for VEE from the North American Society of Actuaries. The School of Risk and Actuarial Studies is also recognized as a Center of Actuarial Excellence by the Society of Actuaries. The Master of Actuarial Studies consists of 12 courses (72 UOC): 4 core courses, plus 8 elective courses.
