B.A. in Comparative Literature

Comparative Literature is the interdisciplinary study of literatures and cultures from different critical perspectives and from different national groups. In the broadest sense, it gives you the tools to compare and contrast the experiences, identities, and material products of people in other places or at other times. It can provide you with the critical tools to look at and form intellectual opinions about: Technologies and world cultures; Literatures of the world; Global concerns; World film; Pop culture and its products; Border studies; Postcolonialism and national identity; Issues of race, class, and gender seen around the world; Cultural studies and how culture creates and transforms experience, everyday life, social relations, and power structures.
