TheUniversity produces highly employable graduates, with its courses designed togive you the necessary skills and experience to excel in the working world. Weprepare students for the world of work and the vast majority of our studentstake up Professional Training placements as a part of their degree.

Our £16m Library and Learning Centre is the academic hub ofthe University, sitting at the heart of our campus. In addition to hostingmulti-million pound collections of online information resources that are easilyaccessible both on and off campus, our Library houses hundreds of thousands ofbooks and journals, as well as audio and image collections to explore. TheLibrary is open 24 hours a day during semester time and has long opening hoursduring vacations.

The University of Surrey's Accommodation Office will helpyou find the right place to live, at an affordable rent, throughout your timeat the University of Surrey. Within the University's own accommodation, we havemore than 5,000 rooms of various types to suit all budgets. All our courts, aswe call the halls of residence at Surrey, are self-catering with shared kitchenfacilities, except for the studio flats (band F) at Manor Park.

Alivewith bars, restaurants, and a huge variety of shops, Guildford will quicklybecome your home away from home.

University is the ideal opportunity to break out of yourcomfort zone and find a new hobby, or pursue an existing passion withlike-minded people. Societies are made up of groups of students interested in acommon theme – maybe you all love baking, share a geographical location or havesimilar religious views. Whether you want to share in the magic of Harry Potteror reckon the Archery society may just hit the mark, joining one of Surrey's130+ societies (or starting your own) will help you make friends and memoriesfor life.  The University also has over 47 sports clubs to join, includingweightlifting, lacrosse and volleyball.

Should you need it, the University offers assistance withany academic or personal problems you may face. Reviewers say positive thingsabout student support, from their friendly attitude to the excellent advicethey provide. Surrey's Centre for Wellbeing has an on-campus team of nurses andadvisors to offer support and advice on issues ranging from mental health toliving a healthy lifestyle. The Student Services Centre is also on hand to helpwith all general non-academic queries, as well as provide support for disabledstudents, international students and is home to a multi-faith chaplaincy. Anon-site GP surgery makes it easy for students to go to the doctors.
