Study the great stories of the human past and improve your critical thinking and writing skills. Take advantage of co-op opportunities and study history’s role in the digital world. Choose from a diverse array of courses from North American, European, Middle Eastern, African, and Latin American History and study women’s history, Aboriginal history, the Atlantic World, and popular culture. History graduates are well prepared to work in a wide range of professions including civil service, law, education, journalism, archival or museum studies. You will be able to producing well-researched written and oral material that integrates contemporary and historical perspectives and engages diverse audiences; researching at a high level by collecting data and processing/synthesizing substantial information; articulating the nature and importance of events in appropriate cultural, social, and historical contexts; identifying historic precedents for governmental and institutional policies and strategic plans; acquiring skillsets that facilitate the creation of public and digital exhibitions, datasets and websites; and appreciating, understanding, internalizing, and applying various historical and cultural perspectives to real-world situations.
