Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University

Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University (hereinafter - ZSMPhU), is a leading, modern, multidisciplinary institution of higher education of Ukraine. With a strong emphasis on medical, pharmaceutical and allied health disciplines, ZSMPhU boasts a vibrant student body and a growing international profile. Over the past decade, it has consistently ranked among the top five Ukrainian universities most favoured by international students, offering programmes in English and Ukrainian, and maintaining active collaborations with academic partners worldwide.

Campus Description

The university campus, consisting of 13 academic buildings and 7 dormitories, is located in a picturesque area on the banks of the Dnipro River and features a well-developed infrastructure. It includes the Educational and Scientific Medical Laboratory Center (comprising 20 laboratories, including the only functioning Cell Culture and Bioengineering Laboratory in Ukraine, established at the beginning of the war), the Institute of Postgraduate Education, the Medical Professional College, the largest Simulation Training Center in Ukraine (covering more than 4,000 m²), the International Education Center, and the Center for Training Foreign Citizens. The structure of the university also includes the University Clinic, one of the first of its kind established among Ukrainian medical universities.

Digitalisation and Innovation

Among the university’s undeniable unique achievements is the implementation of a comprehensive digitalisation and distance education programme that has been continuously developed for over 15 years. A key component of this transformation is the Automated Learning Process Management System, integrated with more than 20 information platforms used at the university. This system covers all major areas of activity: educational, scientific, and administrative. In the educational process, ZSMPhU actively integrates cutting-edge global technologies through collaboration with leading developers, including Microsoft (USA), the Body Interact virtual patient simulation platform (Portugal), 3D Organon Anatomy Premium Enterprise (Australia), the Labster virtual laboratory simulator, and the Virtual Pharmacy pharmaceutical simulator (Australia).
