An educational and professional programme with a strong professional orientation toward theory and practice in the specialty of Pediatrics, providing opportunities for further professional development, including conducting scientific research, and featuring a substantial component of communication and interpersonal skills.
The aim of the educational programme is to train a specialist capable of applying acquired knowledge, skills, and competencies to solve both typical and complex tasks and problems in the field of medicine, pediatrics, within the field of study “Health Care”, for adults and children of various age groups, including newborns and adolescents.
The main forms of education include lectures, practical classes in small groups, clinical placements, patient supervision, practical training in a simulation center, writing educational case histories, independent study, and consultations with faculty members. From the early years of study, students receive in-depth training in the structure and functioning of the human body and the development of pathological processes, while at clinical departments they study the characteristics of disease course, treatment, and prevention in children of different age groups.
Special attention in teaching professional disciplines, taking into account regional characteristics, is given to the impact of environmental factors of technogenic and non-technogenic origin on the health of children, adolescents, and adults and the possibilities for their correction, as well as to mastering skills in providing medical care in emergency situations.
