This programme will prepare you for working as a professional in the fields of sport development and sport coaching. It does this by providing an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to efficiently and successfully design and implement schemes and projects that support participation in sport across different groups of people. Underpinning this, the programme looks to develop your practical coaching, delivery, leadership, and management skills. You will also gain an understanding of the relationship between developing opportunities to take part in sport and the critical role of coaches, leaders, activators and facilitators in this process. As such the programme considers, and emphasises, the increasingly ‘indivisible’ connection between sport development and the frontline workforce who deliver sport.

As a general guide, for postgraduate study you'll need to hold the equivalent of a good honours degree (a 2:1 or 2:2 depending on the course) from a recognised university.

We also accept applications from students who have completed a 'top-up' degree at a UK university. If you hold a UK degree you don't need to provide an IELTS or other English language test certificate.
