FREE TUITION UNIVERSITIES IN GERMANY: COST OF LIVING, VISA APPLICATION AND ADMISSION DEADLINE

GERMAN EDUCATION IS AS GOOD AS THEIR FOOTBALL– CONGRATULATIONS GERMANY ON A WELL DESERVED WORLD CUP GLORY!
Study Abroad 365 has put together a list of 25 universities in Germany that are tuition free for international students seeking to study in Germany. However, be informed that while studying in Germany, you’ll be required to finance your feeding and accommodation expenses. International students should budget roughly 500 Euros for their books, healthcare, food and registration. So in one year, an international student should expect to spend 7000 Euros on feeding, accommodation and books expenses.
HOW TO OBTAIN A VISA
To obtain a German visa, you’ll have to show concrete finance proof of your ability to finance your accommodation and feeding expenses during your time of study. This can be done in either of two ways:
(1) Submit a letter of finances to the German consulate or embassy. You can obtain this sponsor letter from your parents or a German relative who is willing to sponsor your studies in Germany.
(2) Open a German blocked account and deposit roughly 7000 euro. This can only happen once you’ve received your letter of admission. This blocked account is opened in the German embassy.
For more information, visit a German consulate in your home country or check out their websites for further details.

Hi Vishwas, I'm afraid master's degrees in Germany are not free unless you've previously studied your bachelor's degree in the country. To find out the average fees, please see our article 'How much does it cost to study in Germany?'. However, you may well be able to find a scholarship to help with costs, as these are more common at master's level - we have a list of scholarships to study in Germany and a list of scholarships for Indian students. :)

Hi Mandeep, it sounds like your wife may wish to study a PhD in Germany, having completed her masters degree. I'm sure you'll be pleased to hear that PhDs in Germany are usually free for the first six semesters (three years) but here's a link to scholarships to study in Germany. We have also recently published a complete guide on how to study abroad in Germany which your wife should find helpful :)

Hi Amir, this will depend on your course level and subject - most undergraduate courses are taught in German, with English-taught courses being hard to find (they are much more common at private universities in Germany, however these institutions do charge tuition fees.) English-taught programs are more common at master's level. For more information, please see this article.

My twin brother and I had just completed our Australian Matriculation in Malaysia and are waiting for our results.

We are interested to study in universities in Germany.

My bother is interested to do a degree in Aeronautical Engineering whereas I am interested to do a degree in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture.

Please advise the universities in Germany that offer the above courses with free tuition fee for international students or advise us on how to apply.

When is the closing date for the application and when does the courses start.

Hi Lam, I'm afraid I can't recommend particular universities, but I can point you in the direction of our rankings by subject for Aeronautical Engineering (for your brother), and our rankings by faculty for Engineering, both with the results narrowed down by country to see the results in Germany. That should help to give you some ideas, but the German Academic Exchange Service also have a handy program finder which allows you to search by study level, language of study etc.

The application deadline depends on when you're planning to start your course - you can start in either the summer or the winter semester. In general, applications for winter enrolments need to be made by 15 July, and applications for summer enrolments by 15 January. For more information, please see this article on how to apply to study in Germany and this new complete guide on how to study abroad in Germany. Hope this helps!

Hello! If you want to study in German, you'll need to demonstrate your firm knowledge of the language with a proficiency test such as the DSH (German Language University Entrance Examination for International Applicants) or TestDaF (Test of German as a Foreign Language). I'm not sure on the exact scores or levels required, but these should be specified on the official websites of the universities.

Hi Jnae, this will depend on your level of study - there are not currently any medicine programs in Germany in English at undergraduate level, but there are some available at masters level - the German Academic Exchange Service provides a useful tool for finding international programs in your preferred language of instruction. Hope this helps.

i finished my bachelor in architecture and want to know about Free education university in Germany for master degree... and i want ask you about language... is it better to apply for a University of the German language or English language ?
and the labor market in Germany is good about architecture?

Hi Vida! I'm afraid masters degrees in Germany are not free unless you previously studied your undergraduate degree in the country - but you may be able to find a scholarship. I wouldn't have thought that there'd be any difference in the quality of education you'd receive based on the language of instruction, but if you study in English you will definitely find it useful to know a least basic German, to help you with settling in and communicating with the locals in Germany. I'm not sure on the labor market in Germany for Architecture, but your university should provide information about career prospects following your degree. For more information, please take a look at our new guide on how to study abroad in Germany. Hope this helps.

Hi Ahsan! I'm afraid MBA programs in Germany are not free, and the tuition fees will vary as business schools set their own fees. However, you may be able to find a scholarship.  To find the ideal MBA in English in Germany for you, the German Academic Exchange Service's program finder should help. We also have a dedicated sister site all about MBAs -TopMBA.com. Hope this helps.
