The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) offer a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. The master's program is designed to prepare candidates for careers in industry or government or for further study at the PhD level. The PhD program is sufficiently flexible to prepare candidates for careers in industry, government and academia. A course of study leading to the PhD degree can be designed either for students who have completed a Master of Science degree or for students with a Bachelor of Science degree. The Graduate School at Mines is open to graduates from four-year baccalaureate programs at recognized colleges and universities. To be a candidate for a graduate degree, students must have completed an appropriate undergraduate degree program. Other English Language Requirements: A TOEFL?(Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum score of 550 on the paper-based; A PTE?A (Pearson test of English) score of 70 or higher.
