About University of Lincoln

Situated in the heart of a beautiful and historic city in the East Midlands region of England, the University of Lincoln, UK, has established an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research and its innovative approach to working with employers.

The University has over 16,000 students across its two academic colleges (the College of Arts, Social Science and Humanities, and the College of Health and Science) with more than 300 courses available in total at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The city of Lincoln is within approximately an hour’s journey time of Nottingham, Leicester, and Sheffield, and well-connected by road and rail to London and several major UK airports. Its medieval castle and cathedral attract hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the world each year.

Most of the University’s students are based at the main Brayford Pool Campus in the picturesque waterfront area of Lincoln’s city centre, with almost everything you’ll need either on campus or just a short walk away.

In November 2023, the University was awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize, the UK's highest award for universities, to recognise its work supporting the agri-food sector.

The University was awarded Gold, the highest rating possible, in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023 for delivering consistently outstanding standards of teaching, learning, and outcomes for our students. Lincoln is ranked in the UK's top 10 modern universities in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 and in the top 50 UK universities overall in The Complete University Guide 2024.

The University of Lincoln is known for its pioneering approach to working with industry and our unique relationships with regional and international employers, such as Siemens Energy. This collaborative approach has been acknowledged through a series of national awards over the past decade. Through research, the University is striving to change society for the better. More than three quarters of research at Lincoln was judged to be internationally excellent or world leading in the Research Excellence Framework 2021.
