This program offers a cross-disciplinary foundation of entrepreneurship and innovation that helps develop the skills needed to start a business, to acquire and lead a business, and to work effectively within a business. Students learn to understand their own aptitude for entrepreneurship, find and evaluate business opportunities, secure funding, organize and manage new business, and create plans to grow new ventures, including social ventures. This program educates and shapes budding entrepreneurs through strong academic curriculum and practical experiences in the start-up and small business world. CMU students in the Entrepreneurship program learn to find, identify and assess opportunities; develop viable business models; and learn academic skills critical to running a venture, starting a venture or working as an intrapreneur within a venture.
