The RN/B.S. program allows registered nurses with an associate degree in nursing to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The RN/B.S. completion program is web enhanced, offering a combination of face-to-face and online instruction. Students meet for class every other Tuesday at University Center in Greenville. The weeks that students do not meet on campus, they complete their course work online through interactive online learning activities. Students who enroll in a full-time plan of study are able to complete their B.S. in nursing in 12 months. Part-time and full-time plans of study are available to meet the needs of working students. The School of Nursing has established relationships with Tri-County Technical College and Greenville Technical College, which allows for a seamless transition for the associate degree registered nurse graduates to enter our program. Because these students come to the program as licensed, experienced registered nurses, the RN/B.S. in nursing program focuses on socializing the RN to the role of the baccalaureate prepared nurse and shaping their values to include ethical decision making, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and interdisciplinary collegiality. The curriculum provides depth to the RNs’ current knowledge base, including courses in professionalism in nursing, community and family nursing, health care genetics, leadership and management in nursing, and research in nursing.
