The UIII's Faculty of Education offers a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Education. The doctoral program in the Faculty of Education is dedicated to studying the basics of comparative educational philosophy and its variations in Western and Muslim societies to learn traditionally defined areas such as the history of education and research methods in education, educational philosophy, sociology and academic anthropology.
The distinction of IIIU’s Doctor of Philosophy in Education is to advance educational studies’ excellence in societies and promote engagement with the development of education research worldwide. In this sense, doctoral graduates from the IIIU Faculty of Education will be offered an approach to studying education in diverse contexts where they help improve the quality of education while maintaining their cultural identities.

Admission Requirements
- A Master’s degree from an accredited higher education institution.
- Outstanding master’s certificate or equivalent qualifications in the relevant fields with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.5 on a scale of a maximum of 4.0.
- Have strong leadership qualities and academic background.
- Have good co-curricular and social activities record.
- Apply as a full-time Doctoral (PhD) degree student at UIII.
- Have an English language proficiency as shown by a certificate in the form of IELTS or TOEFL. The English proficiency requirement does not apply to applicants who speak English as their native language, mother tongue, or first language or those who graduate from universities that use English as the language of instruction or medium of learning.
- Applicants who choose to apply for a PhD program at the Faculty of Islamic Studies must have Arabic language proficiency, as shown by a TOAFL certificate. The Arabic proficiency requirement does not apply to applicants who speak Arabic as their native language, mother tongue, or first language or those who graduate from universities that use Arabic as the language of instruction or medium of learning.
- Submit a brief research proposal for the PhD Dissertation.
- Submit an academic writing sample, research paper relevant to your field, or article recently published in an academic journal.
- Candidates are required to submit references or letter(s) of recommendation for acceptance
