Horticulture can be defined as one of the agriculture departments that is concerned with the intensive cultivation of plants for direct uses by humans as food, medicinal purposes, or as a source of beauty. traditionally, the Iraqis, especially the Babylonians and Assyrians, have been greatly interested in this type of plant, and this interest continues to the present as a result of its importance, and its nutritional value. Horticulture includes Olericulture, Pomology, Ornamental Science, Floriculture and landscape gardening, and Medical and Aromatic plants. In addition, Horticulture includes tissue culture techniques and preserving and storing horticultural crops pre-post-harvest Technique.
