Al-Noor University was established in 2013 in Bartella, Nineveh. The goal of establishing the college is to provide distinguished education that contributes to raising the level of knowledge and academic qualification, and to provide students with educational opportunities that are in line with the needs of the labor market and contribute to the development of the local community. The university initially comprised the following departments: Department of Law, Department of Arabic Language, Department of English Language and Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences After the dark cloud of terrorism (terrorist groups) dissipated, it became necessary to establish a permanent and new campus. The Shalalat (Waterfalls) area became the cradle upon which our university was reborn in 2020. This rebirth witnessed the introduction of new departments alongside the previous ones, which include: Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Techniques, Radiology Techniques, Optometry Techniques, Anesthesia Techniques, Civil Engineering and Project Management, Petroleum Engineering, Digital Media, Translation, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Engineering. In recognition of the seriousness and commitment to education, the institution was transformed into a university, becoming the first private university in Nineveh. This was formalized by the ministerial order No. 7565 on April 1, 2024, establishing seven colleges supported by administrative and academic units, as well as educational dental clinics and Al-Noor FM Radio.
