What distinguishes the Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Faculty is the presence of fully equipped up-to-date research laboratories and the high diversity in research fields. Based on these aspects, the master students could complete distinguished research projects, many of which were published in prestigious high impact international journals.
The program is having two tracks, thesis (24 credit hours of taught courses in addition to 9 credit hours of thesis) and comprehensive exam (33 credit hours of taught courses in addition to a comprehensive final exam.). The courses taught in the program cover advanced areas of the corner stone fields of the pharmaceutical sciences. It includes Advanced Physical Pharmacy, Advanced Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Advenced Methods in Drug Analysis and Identification, Advanced Methods in Drug Delivery, Advanced Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Advanced Research Methodology, Seminar, Advanced Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Advanced Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and a wide range of other advanced elective courses.
Students can conduct their thesis research project in the areas of cancer biology and therapeutics, clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical technology and drug delivery, phytochemistry and drug design and analysis, and pharmacy education.
Considering these factors, the Faculty of Pharmacy became a successful model in the diverse fields of scientific pharmaceutical research. It is worth mentioning that the use of the faculty' research laboratories by many postgraduate students from other Jordanian universities is a clear sign of the outstanding research conducted at the Faculty on the level of Jordan.
