The Department of Ceramics offers a specialist programme that combines traditional production techniques and contemporary art.  The four-year BA (Hons) degree programme in the field of ceramics and glass art has the vision of providing students with practical skills in creating and presenting their own original works through workshops, as well as learning material chemistry and traditional techniques.

The programme is based on a triadic bond between technical education, critical thinking and historical perspective that encourages students to demonstrate their artistic practice with ceramic and/or glass material as part of their intellectual and critical inquiry. A wide range of practice-led studios and workshops offer common strategies for creative thinking, complemented by lectures and seminars where visual arts and history meet in the fields of philosophy, psychology, architecture, design, technology and natural sciences.

University provides students with an STUDIO style comfortable accommodation option. Our STUDIO is located within 10 minutes walking distance from the university’s campus, offers a standard 2 persons Studio flat type accommodation in a safe, comfortable and well-cared environment. Each studio flat is fully furnished with bed with base storage, wardrobe, L-shaped sofa, TV, fully functional kitchen and toilet/bathroom. Each studio has Wi-Fi and AC and telephone in each room. Access to the building, elevators, and rooms is operated by key card entry system. Staying at the university’s accommodation is believed to shorten your adaptation period on the island and university. Since your personal needs will be served in the best possible way, you will be free to focus on your studies.
Based on the assessment of your application (academic credentials and portfolio) students have an excellent opportunity to receive additional scholarship on tuition fees (50%, 75%, 90% and 100%).
