“Making things better. Drive efficiency – with reliability

Mechanical Engineering is amongst the most diversified and versatile engineering branches and plays an important role in all aspects of human life. A Mechanical Engineer develops products by taking an idea, developing it into a functional prototype, performing engineering analysis (structural, thermal, vibrational, static, dynamic, etc.), applying manufacturing technologies & production processes for the required form and fit required to perform the intended function, and our graduates are trained to do it all—confidently.

BTech Mechanical Engineering is a very broad course that combines engineering physics, mathematics, and materials science to design, analyse, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. Today’s industry, from the automotive sector to fluid flow dynamics, owes its existence to mechanical engineers. In fact, innovations in mechanical engineering drive the world today, literally. From creating better rig equipment to bigger ships, faster cars, or better everyday products, mechanical engineers help keep the wheels of the industry turning, literally speaking.

In addition to the above, as a part of the curriculum, the BTech Mechanical Engineering students are also exposed to software tools like SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS, etc. as well, which helps them familiarise themselves with the prevalent applications being used in related industries.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Mechanical Engineering is amongst the most diversified and versatile engineering branches and plays an important role in all aspects of human life. A Mechanical Engineer develops products by taking an idea, developing it into a functional prototype, performing engineering analysis (structural, thermal, vibrational, static, dynamic etc.), applying manufacturing technologies & production processes for the required form and fit required to perform the intended function.
Mechanical engineering touches every aspect of modern life, right from mobile phones and biomedical devices, to aircraft and power plants. Not just engineering, mechanical engineers deal with economic issues, from the cost of a single component to the economic impact of a manufacturing plant. One of the oldest streams, Mechanical Engineering offers a plethora of opportunities for employment to its graduates. The BTECH(ME) offered at BML Munjal University is designed to equip students with a unique blend of skill sets in addition to the core engineering knowledge and skills.
There are six specializations offered with the BTECH(ME) stream – Automobile Engineering, Robotics & Automation, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, VLSI Design and Internet of Things.
Mechanical engineers play key roles in a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, biotechnology, computers, electronics, microelectromechanical systems, energy conversion, robotics and automation, and manufacturing. On successful completion of the B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering degree, an Engineering Graduate has multiple career options available in diverse roles in industries such as – Product Design and Development Production and Operations Supply Chain and Logistics Structural, Thermal and Fluids Engineering CAD/CAM/CAE technologies Automation and Robotics Additive Manufacturing
Throughout the duration of the programme, students will gain invaluable practical experience by applying this interdisciplinary and integrated learning to real-world problems. This will be made possible by way of Practice School, an internship concept. This initiative enables students to undergo meaningful work experience – over a period of four years. Students spend around 28 weeks, or 22% of their total contact hours, interning with a cross-section of the industry. Practice School internships are courses with credit units and the grade so earned will be included in the cumulative GPA.
