British University Vietnam

British University Vietnam (BUV) is the first and only international university in Vietnam to award direct degrees from University of London and Staffordshire University. Founded as the result of successful cooperation between the government of Vietnam and the United Kingdom; BUV’s mission is to deliver, in Vietnam, accredited British higher education degrees and the highest quality international learning environment possible; and to develop graduates who are first and foremost, ‘good human beings’ with an ethics of kindness and caring. In addition, graduates will be highly employable, multi-skilled, cross-disciplined, creative, and committed to continuous learning and self-development.

Established in 2009, British University Vietnam has since provided teaching for University of London and Staffordshire University degrees, as well as programmes delivered and awarded by BUV – at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. BUV is regularly assessed by the mentioned two partners using criteria governed by the UK Government and the Quality Assurance Agency of the UK, which ensure that the former meets the latter’s exacting standards and that the quality of the programmes is of the highest level.

In 2022, BUV was officially certified as the first university in Vietnam to be awarded a 5-star overall rating from QS, cementing its position as a pioneer in the higher education sector. Specifically, the university was awarded 5 stars on the following criteria: Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Facilities, Social Responsibilities, and Inclusiveness. Furthermore, the Finance and Economics programme of BUV was also honoured to receive a 5-star validation from QS for the criterium of Programme Strength.

BUV is comprised of 4 schools, including the School of Business, School of Hospitality and Tourism, School of Creative Industries and School of Computing and Innovative Technologies. The university also offers an MBA programme – awarded by Staffordshire University; pre-University foundation and pathway courses, and an IELTS training programme.  

100% of graduates from BUV have a job or continue higher education within 3 months after graduation. With a wide network of over 400 enterprise partners in various fields and internship programmes from the first year, BUV helps students gain professional knowledge and practical skills to meet employers’ requirements as well as be ready to develop their careers right after graduation.
