Students study wellbeing and optimal human functioning for individuals, groups, communities and organisations; applicants study the knowledge, skills and applications of positive psychology. A heavy emphasis is placed on supporting the use and application of the new knowledge and skills through personally-chosen projects that also form the basis of assessments; the programme covers primary theories and research in positive psychology, and their inter-relationships. The course provides structured opportunities through which students may explore and apply positive psychology in personally chosen areas; there are visiting experts in topics such as personal strengths, positive emotions, resilience and the processes and journey of human change.

Students who have completed the ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Positive Psychology’ from the University of Iceland will automatically qualify to enter with advanced standing and must complete the following modules: (PS738) Applied Research Skills, (PS739) Data Analysis and Interpretation, and (PS740) Postgraduate Dissertation.
