The objectives of the joint MA /MD program are to train unusually qualified students to conduct research on a broad range of bio-cultural problems, with emphasis on the relationship between medicine, ecology, subsistence variables, population dynamics, and disease epidemiology; and to identify and analyze sociocultural impediments to the successful introduction of effective functioning and evaluation of health care programs in diverse contexts.
