There is no engineering more versatile and vital than that of the Chemical Engineering. Chemical Engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms. Chemical engineering largely involves the design, improvement and maintenance of processes. Chemical engineers ensure that the processes are operated safely, sustainably and economically. To describe in one sentence "what a Chemical Engineer does?" It is sheer impossible, as it is one of the most diverse engineering disciplines. Chemical Engineering department had started from the year 2008 with a capacity of 60 students. In future this branch will prove itself as feather in the cap of this institute.
Chemical Engineering covers the area of Research & Development, Plant Designing, Project Commissioning, Reactor Designing, Production, Maintenance, Safety, Energy Audit etc.
Chemical engineer plays a vital role in Refineries, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Cement Production, Paint Industry, Metal Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Paper Industry, Sugar, Distilleries, Textile, Chemical Industry, Cosmetics etc.
