Our Applied Nutrition course is an interdisciplinary program aligned with the core competencies of the Association for Nutrition (AfN). It encompasses medical, nutritional, social, psychological and exercise sciences.
You will be guided through your study journey with us by an active research teaching team who have diverse expertise.
Our MSc Applied Nutrition program addresses a rising demand for well-trained nutritional professionals in health education, nutrition and community health work.
As high nutrition-related diseases such as cardiovascular issues, type-2 diabetes and certain cancers persist, the importance of combating these, while enhancing immune function, cognitive well-being and mental health is paramount.
The programme is interdisciplinary programme consisting of elements of medical sciences, nutritional sciences, social and psychological sciences, exercise and nutrition and the humanities. It aims to enable you to acquire knowledge, as well as skills to apply that knowledge to practice in a variety of settings.
This programme will also provide you with many transferable skills to prepare you for a career after graduation.
