The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering is designed to engage students for at least 50 credit hours of basic sciences and mathematics, at least 64 credit hours of engineering sciences, engineering design, and at least 24 credit hours’ communications skills, of humanities and social sciences. Laboratory hands-on experience and emphasis on design are important elements that are integrated throughout the curriculum. The curriculum is designed to grant students the Bachelor of Sciences degree upon the successful completion of the four-year program. The first common year with other engineering majors allow students to switch between the engineering majors at the start of the second year of their study. The program can also be concluded in Diploma level upon the successful completion of a two-year program.

Admission Requirements
New students sit for a placement test prior to their commencement to their chosen academic programs. The placement test comprises of three areas: English Language, computer skills and mathematics. Holders of IELTS and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) certificates issued by institutions outside Oman may be asked to take the CEPT.
