Plasma science delivers a fundamental understanding of the behavior of plasmas and is of immense industrial and societal relevance. Plasma technology has a wide range of application areas. It can be used as a light source, as a deposition technology for solar cells, as a particle accelerator for medical research, and so on. The sustainable world of tomorrow would be unthinkable without scientific progress in plasma science and technology.

SKILLS THAT WILL BE DEVELOPED

  • fundamental understanding of plasma physics principles
  • experience with state-of-the-art experimental techniques and advanced computational modelling
  • ability to develop functional applications

A two-year degree comprising 120 ECTS credits, the track Plasmas and Beams follows the general structure of the MSc Applied Physics. This includes a core course in computational and mathematical physics, mandatory specialization courses, free and track electives, an internship and a final project.
