Develop an artificial womb to save the lives of premature babies. Use artificial intelligence to mark tumors on MRI images in a matter of seconds. Research how you can prevent injuries in top football players with wearable echo-patches. The Biomedical Engineering program at TU/e trains you to build bridges between science and the latest healthcare technology.
With a strong focus on societal challenges, you will combine knowledge from biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics with engineering. You will receive a broad education as an academic, with a technical and interdisciplinary focus. Within our challenge-based and practice-oriented education, you will acquire all the knowledge and skills you need to design technology that saves lives. Sometimes with students from your own study program, and sometimes in multidisciplinary teams with students from other programs. This way, you learn to bridge the gap between technology and the world around you even before you start your career. And that is exactly what society needs right now.
