Our BSc (Hons) Computing gives you the flexibility to explore a wide range of computing topics before choosing your specialism. You also have the option to gain real-world experience through a year-long work placement.

Accredited by the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS), this course equips you with the skills to design and build computer systems using a range of technologies. It also prepares you for a wide variety of careers in the tech industry.

In Years 1 and 2, you’ll study alongside students on our BSc (Hons) Software Development course. If you discover a stronger interest in that area, you may have the option to switch to the Software Development course in Year 3.

You’ll study core subjects in the early years to build a strong foundational knowledge, including:

  • programming
  • databases
  • systems design
  • data science.

If you do not have the typical academic entry qualifications, but can demonstrate relevant work experience and/or credits from recognised professional bodies, you may be eligible to enter this course via the University's Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme.
